What is spray drying?

Spray drying is one of the most commonly used methods for drying liquid raw materials in the food, pharmaceutical, and chemical industries. Thanks to its efficiency and versatility, this process preserves the key properties of products while extending their shelf life and making storage and transport easier.

How does the drying process work?

Spray drying is a rapid process that transforms a liquid, emulsion, or suspension into a powder by spraying it into a chamber with hot air. The high temperature causes immediate water evaporation, converting the liquid into a fine, free-flowing powder. With carefully adjusted parameters, the process minimizes the risk of thermal degradation of valuable nutrients.

EXCELLENT SOLUBILITY

Particles obtained through spray drying are small and uniform, dissolving perfectly in water and other liquids. Ideal for instant products such as soups, sauces, extracts, protein isolates, instant coffee, and milk powder.

MICROENCAPSULATION
OF INGREDIENTS

During drying, microencapsulation occurs—sensitive substances (e.g. essential oils, probiotics, vitamins) are enclosed in carriers like maltodextrin or starch. This protects them from light, oxygen, and heat, while allowing controlled release over time.
